On March 22, 2023, the opening of a personal exhibition of paintings by Alexander Matveenko "Cherikov landscape" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the master took place in the Art-gallery "Vysokaye Mѣsta". The exhibition was prepared jointly with the Belarusian Union of Artists.
The nature of the native land at all times fascinated artists, was a pleasure and inspiration for them. Watching his native places, the artist strives to depict their beauty in his canvases, to share their originality with others. Alexander Matveenko through his works introduces the viewer to the cozy places of Cherikov.
Cherikov is a small Belarusian town, which is located on the banks of the picturesque Sozh River in the Mogilev region. The city has a rich history and amazing nature, it is one of the most beautiful and wonderful corners of our country.
The exposition of the exhibition presents landscapes painted by the artist in different periods of his work.
A. Matveenko's works capture many unique, very beautiful corners of his native land: birch grove, endless fields, forest glades, villages covered in melted snow, hot summer... His landscape works presented at the exhibition are a picturesque epic of the Belarusian land.
